Wendy's is a company that defines the American Dream. Wendy's began with the
dream of R. David Thomas, Founder. Dave
began in the restaurant business as a crew member and always dreamed of
owning his own hamburger business.In 1969, despite long odds and
countless doubters, Dave opened the first Wendy's Old fashioned Hamburgers
restaurant in Columbus, Ohio (named after his 8-year-old daughter). Today,
there are more than 5,000 Wendy's restaurants in all 50 states and 34
countries employing over 50,000 people. Despite our size, however, one thing
has never changed: Wendy's believes in the dreamer. If you can dream of a
